Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
